Website Purpose

The heart and soul of the site, and the guides contained within, is to help blend the worlds of the HDR Purist: who mainly uses ReShade as a tool to fix a game’s HDR or to add HDR if the game doesn’t natively support it, and the ReShader: who uses ReShade to fix, enhance, or otherwise change a game’s visuals to something that is more to their liking.

Contributors

Website created and maintained by Creepy (CreepySasquatch).

  • All guide content is written by Creepy, as are most of the screenshots unless otherwise noted.

Soop (smolbbsoop):the creator of the HDR converter that is essential to getting non-HDR shaders working with native HDR and mods like RenoDX.

Lazorr: for helping update the guide site visuals to something more modern.

HDR Den and RenoDX Discord servers: For being a wealth of HDR knowledge that makes this website possible.

Ultra Plus server: For the awesome support group they provide and for allowing me to be a member of their amazing team!

Use of AI

AI / LLMs are being used increasingly often when it comes to content creation, website design, and programming. This is a controversial subject and everyone has their own opinion on what it should and shouldn’t be used for.

This website was originally modified from a Jekyll template by Australian BioCommons which itself was based off of the ELIXIR template. The site has since been overhauled with the help of Lazorr from the Ultra Plus community, of which I am also a team member, and no longer relies on another Jekyll template; however, some remnants of that old site remains and thus credit is given where its due.

I will never use AI of any sort to write any of my guides, nor to produce screenshots or infographics for the site. AI is only used for the web design portion, and only when I cannot figure it out on my own. My background is in IT support, not web design, so I ask for some leeway in this aspect of the site.

All of my guide content relies on my own personal knowledge, or knowledge gained from the various HDR servers and related sub reddits / blogs. LLMs do not have a good understanding of HDR or ReShade, so asking them for this kind of knowledge will not produce accurate results.

I may consider using Claude to make this site more modern looking; or switch over to a Wordpress template in the future. Especially if it helps explain things better or makes things easier to read. For now this old Jekyll style is good enough for me.

Donations

I now have a Ko-Fi account that you can donate to: https://ko-fi.com/creepysasquatch

Writing guides is very time consuming for me, as I spend a lot of time trying to make things written in a way that is as clear as possible.

Any amount will definitely be appreciated, though is completely optional.

None of my guides will ever be paywalled.

If I get enough donations I may spend the money to get a nicer looking site that isn’t completely redone by Claude.
